Riches of life..
There was a business owner name Michael, Michael loves to travel, and he would go on holiday every year without fail to accompany his wife and kids. In one year of his holiday, he selected an island which is isolated and very beautiful, not many people know the existence of this island. He went to the island and book a hut by the beach for one week. When he was there, he experience the comfort of simple life, everybody is happy and very simple in their way of life, very laid back, very easy. He also notice that every morning, there will be a fisherman who walk pass his hut and go fishing, the method he use is simple yet very effective, not only to catch fish in a faster way but the way he lure the fish has never been discovered before. The fish under his catch will always be larger and better than that of other fishermen. The fisherman will then come back to shore after fishing, give some of his fish away to his neighbour and have the rest for his family and himself. Michael decided to approach this fisherman on his last day of stay, he asked the fisherman his age and experience about fishing. The fisherman said he is 40 years old and the method he used was discovered a year ago only. Michael told the fisherman, “if u were to go back to my city and set up a company using this method of fishing, u would be a multi millionaire in 15 to 20 years.” The fisherman then ask Michael, “what would u do after u become a multi millionarie?” Michael said, “well.. after i have lotz of money, i can do whatever i want, go places i want to go and retire in peace without much problem” The fisherman smile and said to Michael, “seems like we have a common interest. Anyway, u can have my method for free because I don’t need another 15 to 20 years to do what i am doing now”
Sometimes we work so hard, we forgot to live our life. We become slaves of materialism and wealth. We forgot that pleasure can come from other areas beside wealth and fame. We are looking forward to the next car, next house, next promotion, next bonus, next sales until we forgot about our next of kin. We can be so busy studying or working until we forgot there’s somebody lonely and waiting for us for accompany them for meal, we forgot that there’s somebody hurt and waiting for us to heal that hurt, we give so much pressure to each other until everybody is exploding.
When we are in difficulties in terms of wealth, people around us give us so much pressure until it paralyse our ability in loving. We forgot how to love our frens, family, pets, lover and sometimes they are the ones who give us the pressure. How wonderful would it be if everybody were to step a step back and see the whole picture?
Can you really afford to neglect everything else other than wealth?
